One of my favorite paintings in the renaissance period is the ugly duchess by Quentin matsys. From all the famous artworks from that period the ugly duchess has been the one that captivates me due to it’s unconventional subject. As a female art practitioner, beauty is just a word because we can find beauty in everything all we need is to have an open mind and heart not just eyes.
