Glen Jaylo, a self-taught artist, was born in 1992 at Sorsogon City, Philippines. He started drawing at the age of seven inspired by cartoons seen on television. He continued his passion by joining school publication as a cartoonist in high school. During college, he also became a cartoonist of “The Artificer”, the official publication of his alma mater (Sorsogon State College) and tried various mediums such as charcoal, oil pastel and acrylics. He was inspired and influenced by Salvador Dali, Jon Jaylo and Greg “Craola” Simkins. Glen makes realism sketches that turns into the world of surrealism. He was invited in several gallery exhibits in the Philippines. His works also travel in some collectors in the United States of America. He works with his visuals about nature and hallucination. His desire is to release the unconsciousness of the real world to a medium that explores the hidden aspects of imagination and to offer subjective and deeper form of truth to each viewer. He believed in the endless possibilities offered by liberating the mind from its rational and conscious state.
