This sculpture was inspired by my fascination with colonial ivory santos. At the same time I felt that it was an appropriate vehicle to express my thoughts on how pervasive the artificial cosmetic business has boomed so much so that the Filipinos have all along been all too eager to change their physical appearance and forget what nature has endowed them with.
