My very first self-portrait painting: A piece inspired by the many techniques, styles, and themes that have played a huge part in my journey as a young aspiring artist. This painting is a representation of my artistic growth and the influences that inspire me to pursue my passion for fine art. It also portrays the beauty surrounding the life of artists and everything in store for us to learn, achieve, and create.
Kaira Red (2003, Cainta Rizal) is a 19 year old sophomore at University of the Philippines Diliman taking up Studio Arts. Since the age of 4, she has always shown interest in visual art, using mostly self-taught creative and artistic skills in her academics. Her fondness of the arts has grown over the years, participating in school art exhibitions and contests, and being a member of her senior highschool's Art Club. Being surrounded by family members who are working and involved in the art field has also inspired her to pursue her passion. Most of her favorite works from before entering college were done for personal functions, leaning towards paintings of portraits, animals and landscapes as she aquired a deep appreciation for nature-related art and continues to express this through her own creations. Now, Kaira strives to expand her knowledge and experience as a fine arts student, and develop her artistry as she currently studies and explores the various styles and mediums of traditional art in her university.
