PAGASA: Piliin At Gamitin Ang Sariling Atin
Jay Vincent Gatdula
We, Filipinos, have lots of rich culture that we can be proud of wherever we go.
Some of them are the Filipino products such as bilao, banig, walis tambo, basket, duyan salakot and many others. Through these products, we can also show how good and talented the Filipinos.
Recently, it seems that the number of supporters and consumers of these products are decreasing overtime. In fact, many Filipino are more fond of foreign products. Hence, the source of livelihood of our other compatriots gradually weakened. That scenery in our era is really unfortunate but we can still introduce Filipino products by means of continous patronage and supporting them.
These artwork shows a typical street vendor. I hope that time will come again that we can shout loudly that we are Filipinos and we have lots of talented craftmen.
I believe that there is still HOPE in the patronage of Filipino products!!!
“PAGASA” (Piliin At Gamitin Ang Sariling Atin) God is also with us in creating beautiful fields and beautiful scenery that our country should be proud of.
