The word "pain" has two meanings: it can allude to the Filipino word "bait," and it can also refer to the bodily suffering or discomfort brought on by disease or trauma. This piece of art addresses the issue of harassment of Filipino fisherman in the West Philippine Sea. With a subtle fish silhouette that reflects the heritage and independence of fisherman in the West Philippine Sea, rattan stands for foundation. The current issue is symbolized by the fishbone.
