Frederick Epistola, “My artworks are meant to create connections, convergences—for people sharing my values and those from different cultures and bring about the awakening and stimulation of the viewer’s imagination based on their interpretation of my work.” is a painter, mixed-media artist, sculptor, and documentary film producer. The International Museum of Collage, Assemblage, and Construction in Texas, United States, acquired two of his pieces in 2006. In 2008, his mixed-media piece titled ""Master without a disciple"" was featured in the internationally distributed limited-edition calendar of the Painters for Human Rights (USA). His sculpture ""Kulintang"" was part of the permanent collection in Katara, Qatar's Cultural Village (Unveiling June 2022). He was the only Filipino artist to participate in NASA's FluxFace in Space Art Program, which included 127 artists from 26 different countries. In 2019 and 2022, the National Commission on Cultures and the Arts awarded Epistola the Cultural Diplomacy Grant of Sentro Rizal and the Competitive Travel Grant. He was also the first Filipino to have a solo exhibition at KATARA Artist Village in DOHA, Qatar (August 2019). ""Blinking"" a piece of video art by Epistola, was featured in the exhibition ""No More Valid"" at Momentum Gallery in Krakow, Poland (March 2022). In May 2022, he spearheaded the Philippine delegation to exhibit contemporary Philippine art at the 4th Armenia Art Fair and was accepted into the Art Commune International Art Residency Program under the Art Cultural Studies Laboratory (ACSL) in Yerevan, Armenia. In 2017, Epistola was featured on CNN Profiles, where he discussed his life as an artist and the causes he promotes through his works. Epistola obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications from the University of the Philippines in 1996. He is the founder and head curator of Art Show Philippines, the leading online platform for Filipino artists. He is also a member of the United States-based Global Collage Movement and International Union of Mail Artists (IUOMA).
