When I was growing up,I used to watch the cartoon series "The Flying House".The story revolved around the adventures of three little kids who went on a time travel with a scientist and his robot using a Flying House as their time machine.they travelled through the biblical times.The scientist tried to bring them back to the present,but failed everytime.

The painting is about a boy who is running away from his house in the middle of the night to go to an adventure riding a big dog (like the movie The Neverending Story).

In the cartoon program, the characters seem to be oblivious of the absence of their parents.In the painting, we see a home left by an adventure-seeking boy.
