"Collapse" is a painting of a stallion made of broken glass, standing proud and blanketed by "paint drips". The piece is a personal reflection on the fragile ego, and the difficulties of mending it.
Crystal Tranquilino (born 1994) is a contemporary oil painter currently residing and working in Angeles City, Philippines. In 2016, she earned her bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Santo Tomas. Out of interest, Crystal painted her first oil paintings during a hiatus after graduation and instantly fell in love with the medium. She has since been able to work with galleries in Metro Manila, and art fairs including Art Fair Philippines, to exhibit her contemporary art pieces, usually of paint-enveloped still life compositions or of the human figure rendered in a surreal vision of liquid meets flesh.
