When I was a kid, I would always make little drawings for my mom after coming home from school. She was a nurse at the time and often came home late, sometimes when I was already asleep, so leaving her something I had made felt like my own little way of saying "I was thinking of you while you were away".

And even now, as an adult, I think my work still carries a lot of that kid who used to sit down and draw for her mom. The colors, the childlike imagery, the imperfect little details. Maybe a part of me is still that same kid, making something with my hands and hoping it makes someone extra feel loved.
