This painting depicts a scene wherein a table is set in the middle of the forest. On the seats are stuff toys, tiny creatures, and a little girl. Two bigger figures loom in the background. One of them can be seen holding a doll wearing a forget-me-not flower around its face. The artist leaves it to the viewers to decide whether the figure is taking the doll away from the table or if she is putting it on the vacant seat to join the party. Maybe like memory, it is something that happens simultaneously, the good ones being cherished while the bad ones, we try hard to forget.
