Glory is a state of being that individuals strive for. People are said to achieve a “moment of glory” or “bask in the glory.” These are the times that make people feel alive, and this emotion is perfectly captured in Sal Ponce-Enrile’s painting of the same name. An acrylic painting on a 24 by 36 inch canvas, Glory uses colorful, cloud-like shapes and swirls to encapsulate several triangular peaks in the center. This arrangement is representative of what it takes to achieve glory: While the path may be at times hazy, there is a clear ascent to where we want to go. Glory is thus an abstract expressionist meditation on our boldest dreams and what it takes to achieve them.
