A reflection on what is a Chinese Filipino, a Filipino Chinese, or Chinoy through examining the different stereotypes, iconography, myths, and people you would be able to meet. I want to kind of have people find themselves or people they know through the piece, and look at this long history we have. Binondo is the oldest chinatown in the world, and the story of the Chinoy is that of immigrants who came to this land and made it their home. We've become a people that have a stake in this country. How do we grapple with the diaspora? How do we treat one another? How does our history inform us? Are we people who have made this a home or are we going to be disconnected because we see ourselves as different, as outsiders forever?
