Allan Brando M. Gonzales, was identified for his contemporary cubist works mostly in acrylics and oils. His works depicts rural Filipino life in his angular shaped figures. While attending college in Manila he often visited the nearby Mabini area to view the works of some of his inspirations, to name a few, Malang, Legazpi, Manansala, Ang Kiukok, and other contemporaries in their genre. The work of these masters were very evident in the artist's style as he developed his own strokes. He joined local and national art competitions as well as group exhibitions, and was lucky to have won in several tilts. He was at one time an art teacher in a private school for some years and did art tutorials for children and adults alike, while doing commissioned portraits and book illustrations on his free time. To date, he was aspiring to do and show more works in his style, to tell the stories through his canvases the lively and colorful culture of his Filipino race.
